Our Albert's ZoomBase

...is found underground, set in the gnarled roots of the huge ancient soaring skunkweed tree that has been growing in the village for thousands of years. A number of tree rooms have sprung up in the branches, where people go for a little altitude and a quiet smoke or two...Albert is a tall, thin, shaven- headed man in his twenties; his clothes are simple and always baggy and he wears round prism-lens spectacles all the time; sometimes he wears beads, and funny hats. It is not unknown to see a large, smouldering, cone-shaped object protruding from Albert's grinning mouth. His diet appears to consist largely of the exotic fungi that grow in immense profusion all about Leri-Land, usually supplemented with the little cubes of sugar which are found growing on the brightly foiliaged El-Ess Tree...Albert can often be seen dancing; in the streets of the village, down at the Monkey House, or at the many gatherings of communal celebration that seem to suddenly take place for the flimsiest of reasons (for example, someone will say "Look! the sun's shining, let's have a rave!" or "Oh, i just sneezed, let's have a party!")...sometimes Albert forgets how to speak and dances what he has to say instead...
