The Messier catalog is a set of astronomic objects observed and noted by
the nineteenth century astronomer Charles Messier, with the purpose of
discerning a number of phenomena often mistaken for comets. The result
is a compendium of incredibly beautiful photographs as well as the foundations
for deep sky astronomy.
