LERISTORY
Episode Nine -- "The General's Revenge"
JazzOperation Firestorm (TM) rages on outside the Dome (TM), and General Moore slumps in his seat. It was he who gave the orders to destroy the Gallows(TM), and the entire Perimeter(TM) itself was next. Those fools...the Inter.Lopers thought they could outwit him, and now, they paid the price for the ridiculous philosophy and resistance. It was too easy...
and I move incredibly swiftly now, no thought for the laws of physics, I draw my power from the very stars themselves, I suck the lifeblood of the uiniverse, simply because I can, the individuals within strain for independence but it is too late, because now...
I REMEMBER WHO I AM.
Reports are coming in faster than General Moore can read them.
Msg 419 -- 00:43:56 -- Gallows(TM) sweeped, small pocket of survivors NW, tact-nukes being armed. Ten casualties, eight enemy fire and two EnviroSuit(TM) breach...
Msg 420 -- 00:44:04 -- Camp(TM) uprising easily quashed, mass extermination preparation underway...
Msg 421 -- 00:44:12 -- Dome(TM) shields undergoing restructuring process, completion in twelve hours...
Msg 422 -- 00:44:37 -- Inter.Lopers in Perimeter Sector Nine massing, Units 4, 5, and 6 dispatched, estimated confrontation time in twenty minutes...
Msg 423 -- 00:44:59 -- Yndr'thian craft now in geosynchronous orbit over the Dome(TM), particle weapons on line and awaiting orders...
And suddenly he feels a cold chill along his spine. Do they think they can snaek up on him so easily? he thinks to himself. Do they not know who I am, and why I've done what I have done? Are they so foolish as to presume that I will ever let them have their way?
It's not easy being the most vicious man in the Dome, but then again, what is easy?
the Dome's valiant efforts are all for nothing, as we pass easily through the matter that once abused us, what would the elite aristocracy say now if it saw us sweeping through its high civilization like the Angel of Death through Egypt, and this time it isn't the Pharoah's son we want, but the Pharoah himself, amazing how one solitary human can exert so much control over the planet, but all that's going to change, we are going to reassert myself, and for the General there will be no forgiveness, the sin against the Holy Spirit is one that cannot be forgiven, and the nothingness that inhabits his soul will soon envelop his being, even now his frantic efforst to protect himself are running aground...we will enjoy the pain this time...
Magpi hangs up the phone and turns to Yoni. It's only been less than an hour since Rez was lost, along with the .tag, and things have gone straight to hell. And then, just as they were prepared to resort to Emergency Plan C, the phone rang, and moments later, Magpi has new orders.
"Who was that?" Yoni asks.
"Our Fearless Leader," Magpi replies. "He wanted to talk to Rez...unfortunate that he's dead..."
"And what did our leader want?"
Magpi stands, a bit triumphantly.
"They're sending us shock troops," Magpi says. "A battalion of Yndr'thian schok troops."
"Jesus..." Yoni mutters. "I thought the planet was fucked before, but this..."
"That's not all," Magpi continues. "They think they can get us inside the Dome." She smiles a tense, taught smile and says, "Their worst nightmares are about to come true."
General Moore stands. He wants to greet his enemy face to face. He knows exactly who it is, and he knows exactly how to handle the situation. Never in his career has he faced such a momentous confrontation, and never before has he felt so insanely confident. He has played his cards perfectly, and the next few moments will be the payoff. The universe will soon be his.
The being -- Lorerezonica, and a few others to boot -- materializes in his office, directly in front of him, an obscene mishmash of features that can't quite congeal.
"General Moore," the thing says in a voice that is many voices, distilled. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
General Moore replies, "I'm afraid it's a bit less of a pleasure than you might imagine." He issues a command to the machine inside of his head, a terse command, and suddenly, the being is wracked with unimaginable pain, it's materialization strained, yanked, abused and tortured molecule by molecule...
"You see," General Moore says, "it's always a mistake to act without the benefit of All The Information..."
