While many people slept all over the world
it is quite possible that
somewhere, someone was filled with churning, excruciating, encompassing desire
for the caress of a particular person
causing them to undulate unaware within delicious longing
a desire that seemed capable
of completely overwhelming them
and yet, somehow, caused them to feel ever more alive instead

somewhere, someone
has grown completely disinterested
in the spouse that once
made them feel so very alive
has been unable to notice
how that person has bloomed, changed, grown, expanded
and could be, to them, as a brand new lover
but instead has chosen the effortlessness of quietly apathy
and inner resignation
while maintaining their stated commitment

somewhere, someone
went to sleep with their spouse
yet felt completely alone

somewhere, someone
attempted to possess another
and keep them all to themselves
and tried to call that "love"
rather than selfishness and fear

somewhere, someone
was moved by a beauty they saw in another
though that person couldn't see it
and were thus presented with the choice
to take the risks of drawing toward them
or turning their head away demurely
and going back to finish up some paperwork

somewhere, someone
after trying for so many years
to inspire and bring forth the inner beauty of others
and of life itself
has finally given up
disappeared into their life
forgot what it was they valued in life
and faded into the mass pursuit
of capitalist emptiness
without even realizing it
.............perhaps because no one bothered
to stop them from doing so

somewhere, someone
was deeply moved after reading another's writings
and had their soul profoundly stirred
thus bringing to life portions of their being
that for so long
were obliterated, buried, forgotten, or unknown

and somewhere, someone
tasted the warm wet breath of another
deep within their being
and drifted, disappeared, manifested, and soared
under cascading waves of bliss
