You slowly regain conciousness
as you notice someone has cracked this dream -
broken glass splinters and glitters in moonlight
Your head slips from cold fingers
drowning in the depths
of that sleepy haze of death
The last chance to see gold flash
before your eyes in a silent goodbye
Your sins are broken, lying
mangled on the ground
Thin gold chains hold your wrists
Scared faces touch the fringes of your memory
transcending
soft and dark
staggering from that warm buried cave
shelter from life, happiness, and pain
The burnt-out flame leaves ashes in the dirt
You've been here before
