Annual Leri Avatar Festival Do it yourself, Do it for yourself. The festival takes place over one weekend, which includes everything from planning, writing, schmoozing, acting, drawing, coding, creating web sites, and beyond. Staying up into the wee hours of the dawn is not unheard of. There is no formal structure to this event (ie, participants are challenged to contribute whatever skills they have). Generally what happens is a brainstorming session, followed by a flurry of creative activities. Some years there are multiple projects that occur simultaneously.
The study of avatar festival artifacts, especially those which one helped to create, can be a very interesting process, sort of like reading old journal entries of a collective nature.
